Living in Albert Park gives participants access to a strong mix of local shops, community spaces, recreation and public transport. Our Supported Independent Living in Albert Park is designed to help participants use those opportunities while receiving practical support at home. We shape assistance around each person’s routine, goals and NDIS plan so everyday life can feel more manageable without losing privacy or choice.
Supported Independent Living is NDIS funded assistance for participants who need regular support with everyday life. SIL can be delivered in a shared household or an individual home and may include support during the day, evening, overnight or across 24 hours where approved.
SIL is about the support provided in the home. It does not usually cover ordinary living expenses such as rent or groceries. The participant remains involved in decisions about their routine, home and support.
SIL may be appropriate for participants who need ongoing help with daily activities but still want meaningful control over how they live.
Albert Park has a strong local identity built around Albert Park Lake, Bridport Street, Victoria Avenue and nearby community and recreation facilities. Tram routes 1, 12 and 96 also provide useful connections across the area. Our SIL support can help participants build routines around these familiar local places rather than keeping support limited to the home.
We support showering, grooming, dressing, toileting, mobility, transfers and morning or evening routines with an emphasis on privacy, consistency and participant preferences.
We can assist with shopping, meal planning, cooking, cleaning, laundry and home organisation. Participants who want to improve these skills are supported to take part in manageable steps.
Support can include budgeting, cooking, organising appointments, communication, decision making and public transport use. Albert Park’s local shopping strips and tram connections create practical settings for building confidence with everyday errands.
We can support participants to enjoy recreation around Albert Park Lake, attend appointments, visit local shops, take part in activities at community venues, see family and friends or pursue personal interests.
Where assessed and funded, support may include sleepover care, active overnight support, evening assistance and 24 hour staffing.
Initial conversation
We start by understanding what the participant wants from their living arrangement and what support is currently working or not working.
Support needs review
We review the participant’s NDIS plan, daily needs and relevant clinical or allied health information.
Personalised planning
We shape support around routines, preferences, communication needs and personal goals.
Service agreement
The agreed support is written in plain language so everyone understands what will be provided.
Ongoing reviews
Support is reviewed as circumstances change, rather than remaining fixed when the participant’s needs move forward.
Families, guardians and support coordinators often play an important role in SIL planning. With the participant’s consent, we can also work alongside plan managers, nurses and allied health professionals.
We keep communication practical and focused on the participant’s goals, particularly during transitions or when support needs change.
Learn more about the wider service on our Supported Independent Living page.

Our focus is on helping participants create a routine that works in real life, both at home and in the community. That means reliable support, useful skill building and enough flexibility for the participant’s goals to change over time.
