Supported Independent Living in Reservoir: Build Confidence Through Daily Life

Reservoir combines established neighbourhoods with strong train, bus, shopping and recreation connections. Our Supported Independent Living in Reservoir helps participants make use of that local access while receiving practical support at home. We tailor personal care, household assistance, skill building, community participation and overnight support around each participant’s goals and NDIS plan.

What SIL Can Change in an Everyday Routine

Supported Independent Living is NDIS funded support for participants who need regular help at home. The support can be delivered in shared or individual living arrangements and can vary significantly depending on the participant’s needs.

For some people, the biggest difference may be having consistent help with morning routines and meals. For others, SIL may provide overnight safety, mobility support and assistance across most parts of the day.

When Supported Independent Living May Suit You

SIL may be appropriate if you:

  • Need regular personal care or mobility assistance
  • Need help managing household routines
  • Require support with meals or medication prompts
  • Need overnight or 24 hour assistance
  • Want to build practical daily living skills
  • Need support accessing community activities or appointments
  • Want shared living with compatible housemates

Using Reservoir to Build Everyday Independence

Reservoir has two rail stations, Reservoir and Regent, along with established shopping areas around Broadway and Edwardes Street. Edwardes Lake Park also provides a large local recreation space. These familiar locations can support practical goals around travel, shopping, exercise and community participation.

Personal Care and Daily Routines

We assist with showering, dressing, grooming, toileting, transfers, mobility and daily routines. Support is adjusted to the participant’s abilities rather than doing more than is needed.

Meals and Household Tasks

We help with meal planning, groceries, cooking, cleaning, laundry and household organisation. These tasks can also become part of skill development goals.

Life Skills Development

Support can include budgeting, shopping, planning appointments, public transport use and daily organisation. Trips to Broadway, Edwardes Street or local train stations can be used to practise these skills.

Community Participation

We support recreation at local parks, social activities, appointments, hobbies, shopping and visits with family or friends.

Overnight and Ongoing Assistance

Depending on assessed needs, participants may receive evening care, sleepovers, active overnight assistance or 24 hour support.

Turning Support Needs Into a Clear SIL Routine
