Supported Independent Living in Mill Park can make everyday routines easier to manage while helping participants build greater independence. We provide personalised SIL support for personal care, household tasks, life skills, community participation and overnight needs. With local recreation, accessible facilities and transport connections nearby, support can extend beyond the home into the places participants actually use each week.
Supported Independent Living is NDIS funded help for participants who need regular support with daily tasks. It can be delivered in shared or individual living arrangements and may range from a few scheduled support periods to overnight or 24 hour care where approved.
The goal is not to create dependence on support. It is to make daily life safer and more manageable while helping the participant stay involved in decisions, routines and skill development.
SIL may suit participants who:
Mill Park offers practical local options for community participation and skill building. Mill Park Recreation Reserve includes an all abilities play space, accessible facilities and a Changing Places facility, while nearby South Morang Station and local bus routes provide transport connections. These local features can be useful when participants are working towards community access or travel goals.
We assist with showering, grooming, dressing, toileting, mobility, transfers and regular morning or evening routines. The level of assistance is based on the participant’s own support needs.
We support meal planning, cooking, grocery shopping, cleaning, laundry and home organisation. Participants can practise these tasks with support where independence is part of their goals.
We can help with budgeting, appointment planning, communication, public transport use, shopping and organising weekly responsibilities.
Support may include visiting Mill Park Recreation Reserve, attending appointments, using local shops, joining community activities or travelling to nearby services in South Morang and Plenty Valley.
Participants with higher needs may receive sleepover support, active overnight assistance, evening care or 24 hour staffing where this is included in their plan.
Initial conversation
We discuss what is currently difficult, what is already working and what the participant wants to achieve.
Support needs review
We review the participant’s NDIS plan and daily support requirements.
Personalised planning
We turn those needs into a clear routine for personal care, household tasks, community access and overnight support.
Service agreement
The support arrangement is written clearly so everyone understands what is included.
Ongoing reviews
We adjust support when goals, health or circumstances change.
Families, guardians, support coordinators, plan managers and allied health professionals can all play a role in creating a successful SIL arrangement. With the participant’s consent, we share relevant information and coordinate around changes in support needs.
Read more about our broader approach on the Supported Independent Living service page.

We combine practical home support with opportunities to build confidence in real local settings. The aim is to make support useful, flexible and connected to the participant’s everyday life.
